At the next Research on Tap, join us for a discussion about the myth of Canada’s British ethnicity. The discussion begins at 7 pm, Tuesday, February 7 at the Pourhouse above Charlottetown’s Old Triangle. The discussion is titled "How did Canada become and Anglo-British Nation," and will be led by Dr. Lisa Chilton, Associate Professor of History at UPEI.
“In many parts of Canada, there continues to be an assumption that this nation has an Anglo-British core,” says Chilton. “New immigrants to Canada are typically judged according to their ability to assimilate to this core. This assumption is problematic on many fronts.”
