Innovation PEI Graduate Student and Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program 2012

Through the Island Prosperity Strategy, Innovation PEI is implementing a fourth call for applications for the Graduate Student and Post-Doctoral Fellowship program.

Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows are at the heart of vibrant and active research groups.  The Innovation PEI Graduate Student and Post-Doctoral Fellowship program is designed to support and develop highly skilled researchers in the strategic sectors of bioscience, information technology, aerospace and renewable energy. This support allows them to gain research experience on industry relevant projects while undertaking their graduate or post-doctoral programs.  Furthermore, the recruitment program is designed to attract highly qualified personnel to PEI.

Masters and PhD students are eligible to receive $20,000 per year to support graduate level research projects.  Post-doctoral Fellows are eligible to receive $40,000 per year which will support post-doctorate level research projects. 

UPEI will submit only those applications that meet the program criteria and are of the appropriate length. Below is the UPEI process for reviewing applications.

1) Members of the Graduate Studies Advisory Committee & Research Advisory Committee will review draft applications in order to provide feedback to applicants. Note: transcripts and reference letters are not required at the review stage.

Deadline: Monday June 11th 2012
Submit to the Office of Graduate Studies, 225 McDougall Hall

2) Feedback provided back to applicant.

Returned to applicants by: Friday June 22nd 2012

3) Final copy of applications (including transcripts and two reference letters) to be received by the Office of Graduate Studies for submission to Innovation PEI. Note: reference letters in a sealed envelope must be included with the application and are not to be submitted directly to Innovation PEI. By request, the university will accept electronic letters directly from referees.

Deadline: 4:00pm, Thursday June 28th 2012

The Office of Graduate Studies will submit applications to Innovation PEI in hard copy by the application deadline of June 29th at 4pm.

Please complete the appropriate UPEI Application Template for Student/Fellow or Recruitment applications (attached). Also, please review the attached Program Guidelines and Instructions for Applicants. These instructions are intended to provide you with guidance to complete the Graduate Student or Post-Doctoral Fellowship application.
