The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) would like to highlight the opportunities available for social sciences and humanities research funding through the Automotive Partnership Canada (www.apc-pac.ca).
SSHRC has committed $5 million over five years to this initiative to fund social sciences and humanities research in the priority areas of the Automotive Partnership Canada. For this reason, we encourage you to promote these opportunities for funding with social sciences and humanities researchers working in areas of interest related to this initiative. Please note that proposals are accepted on an ongoing basis and we invite interested researchers to consult the “How to Apply” section of the Automotive Partnership Canada Website for further information regarding the application process.
On April 16, 2009, the Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry, announced the establishment of an automotive research fund designed to keep the Canadian auto industry competitive and sustainable. Automotive Partnership Canada will provide $145 million in research funding over five years to support significant, collaborative R&D activities that will benefit the entire Canadian automotive industry. This initiative is a partnership between five federal research and granting agencies under the Industry Canada umbrella, which have identified collaborative, industry-driven automotive research as a priority.
